I have Pentas and have had no problems with either children or dogs as far as they are concerned. It takes quite a bit to knock over an 8000 so if you prefer them, get the 8000s. I personally prefer the Century. You have the ability to control the tone controls and having a tape player is a bonus. No timer though. Not all Centurys have AM though. The BS1 looks more modern though.
