  • Re: Need advise on damaged dm7 monitors

Unfortunately I think you have the wrong site! DM7s are a fine speaker but are made by Bowers and Wilkins, a fine English speaker manufacturer. Not sure of the drive units used but this link might be helpful. I have DM12s myself!

  • Re: Service manuals

The 4500 manual is on site but there is not that much in these unless you need to play with the electronic circuits. If there is something specific you need to know, feel free to PM me. To get access to all the manuals then you need to be a silver or gold member.

  • Re: connections for avant

Which model Avant do you have? There should be a type number on the back. DTV is the usual way of accessing the STB on an Avant so soomething is not right here! I'll check mine tonight and see how it is set up. I take it that you do have the STB-C hardware fitted? You need this to work the STB using the Beo4 and also for the STB menu to be available

  • Re: Are B&O speaker mains polarity sensitive?

They all seem to have only two pin connectors at the speaker end so polarity cannot be important. In the UK, the wires are colour coded so brown is live and blue neutral so I follow the convention. Probably not necessary though!

  • Re: Beogram 4500

I take it that it doesn't do it until the record is playing. This has been reported and is sometimes due to the flexible contact wiring belt touching the moving platter. Obviously you cannot see it when you just take the top off as it is over the other side. Try taking the platter and subplatter off and then set the arm off. You may well see if

  • Re: Soundproof's Guide for using iPhone or iPod Touch as a remote!

I did eventually try it as an MP3 player but I have a 160Gb iPod as well so I don't see it getting much use! It does do videos nicely though! The screen is big enough! I did use it for web browsing Beoworld a little but I don't think the screen is really big enough. I think its major role will be as a remote.. The only question will be whether

  • Re: Soundproof's Guide for using iPhone or iPod Touch as a remote!

I never put the computer to sleep. I think I need to do a bit od reaaranging of my wireless though as the command will be going to the Airport Extreme and then to the computer before going back to the Extreme and then to the iPod. I'll hard wire the Extreme to the computer and see if that helps. I'll wait till my new HDD arrives probably. It

It sometimes does not seem to respond in the way I would expect. For instance, I will touch Artist, and the block is highlighted, but then nothing much happens. I may need to press a couple of times and even go back a level and start again. Some of it may be impatience but I imagine it just takes a bit of time to communicate. Signal strength seems OK

  • Re: Hard to choose between Beolab 8000 or Beolab 3

Beolab 9s? Squatter but better sound and probably more child friendly.
