I think I have put a service manual for the BL1000 on site - look in the MX1500 service book as I think it is mentioned!!

Welcome back! I am afraid I have no useful suggestions for the 9500 system - I have one on top of a bookcase looking for a home! Just don't want to part with it!! We clearly will need pictures on site of your exciting install! Best new gadget - iPod Touch which controls my N.Music!

The Ouverture would be the obvious choice though a 9300 would allow you to use some passive speakers whilst waiting to get some Beolabs. However a Beosystem 6500/7000 would be an interesting alternative and would allow the easy provision of a turntable should you wish to get some of the rarer jazz albums only available on vinyl. I would take the top off. I have found the service manual - quite detailed and a fair amount of detail about the tape mechanism. You will need to join as a silver or gold member to access it. Let me know if you plan to join as I will make it a priority to scan it! It will take an evening!

I fixed the font! Don't completely agree. I think some products are rebadged - the BS6 being a case in point but it has also been recased in nice materials and the electronics have had a make over. Other products like the Beo5 shows true flare - the buttons on the screen have to be experienced - better in operation than the iTouch if not as useful

Rubber ring often used as an oil seal in automotive parts. Can be cut and then superglued to the correct size.

I believe is is round. B&O did actually make some a while ago but they will have gone by now. I know some people use large O rings cut to the correct size if you cannot get one.

I think the differences can be seen! We have a number of Peters, Alexs and Davids as well of course Eds. I wouldn't worry about it!

The BS6 offers a few things not seen in another player. The quality of materials used is very high and this is a boutique type product where the feel of a product is very imprtant. It lso does offer good sound quality, probably better than the iPod Photo which was a disappointment compared to the earlier iPods in this regard. However the latest iPods
