People ASK £50 but does anyone ever GET £50. If they do then maybe I can holiday in the bahamas as I have a draw full of them
Yes they do!! But only if you have the attachment bracket for the Ouverture type systems. Without it they are not worth a lot.

The Master Control 5500 should work just fine with the Beomaster 6500 as well as the 5500. They do need fresh batteries to work well otherwise they are a bit temperamental with a lot of "No Contact" displays.
-
You need EITHER Beogram 3500, 4500, 6000QUAD, 6500 or 7000 which all have the required built in RIAA pre amp. These will ALL work well with new systems. There are now very many people whoare now realising the benefits of vinyl. Alternatively any other turntable with an external pre amp connected between the deck and the AUX socket.
My BeoMaster left the factory with only one of the two screws. I had to go down to the local hardware store to find a replacement. The replacement is a No. 1 Phillips panhead screw.
AFAIK they all left the factory with one screw! It is only there to stop the pcb from sliding into the release position.

Not easy to clean the lens..........but possible. The amatuer way is to use a dry cotton bud in the gap between cd mechanism and clamper at the right hand side of the carriage. or............the professional would lift the clamper, as described in the service manual. Relatively easy but you need to be technically adept. Proprietary cd cleaning discs

The CD mechanism is not finding focus, by your description of the fault. That is the usual reason for the stationary disc and the PAUSE display. Either the laser lens is dirty or the CD mechanism will have to be replaced. If you are very lucky, cleaning the lens with a cotton wool bud will cure it. However, the mechanism will usually need replacing
I've even learnt that you need to open & close the CD door to reset the track counter from you
Nobody knows everything Stonk but what I do know, is in the main, self taught. Every time I am testing a CD mech outside the box I do have a chuckle about updating the track counter!

The OP had asked me a question on eBay before joining BeoWorld. I gave him the benefit of my experience in my answer to his question. Here is my answer. Dear 02041943, Simon, Recommend that you open the drawer and unplug from the mains with the drawer open. Clean the door tracks with a cotton wool bud romoving all accumulated dust. Spray silicone lubricant

There are no belts that can be adjusted and the service manual does not show how to repair the sliding doors!!
Well -how do you know..? The service manual DO actually show how to repair the sliding doors!!! OK -there's no belts...It's called a Cord drive. In the service
-
It can be repaired. It's probably a question of adjusting the belts of the mechanism. It's a shame, that repair shops today don't want to repair things-they just want to replace some modules, if possible. Otherwise the reply is: "It's too old"... If You upgrade your Beowold membership, You can
