What makes you say that? I was in the market for a new TV a while back which gave me a chance to really look at the competitors products and nothing came anywhere near a BeoVision 9, both in terms of standard definition and high definition performance.

The_Beonic_Man: Do you really think it is the best value for money? I am not that convinced myself. Perhaps I am biased because I don't like it but isn't it just a reasonably up to date Panasonic TV screen with a BeoSystem 3? I am not sure where the value for money bit comes in? I would have assumed the BV7s were far more value for money considering

Just as a warning, be careful what you play with in the service menu. It's intended for B&O engineers only as there are quite a few settings in there which can cause expensive damage to the TV!

Yes, I'd say so. In fact, 178 is rather a lot! The problem with the CX speakers is that the cost of buying new drivers for them is hardly less than the price you can get if you sell them with new drivers. The same goes for CX100s and CX50s. I can't speak for any of the older C series, I've never bought/sold any. Shame really as I would happily pay quite

astrauch: DoubleU: For your bedroom, buy a Harmony One. Program a macro-code. (easy software) Touch the screen en watch. Is a Logitech Harmony in the box? No, but when I buy a BV 7 I get a Beo 4 or 5. Also: Why should I buy an ugly plastic remote for 199€? A Beo 4 costs only 40€ more. I prefer watching TV in the living room, with MUCH better

Agreed! The BeoVision 9 may be seen by some as a 'dud' product, but for those who have the money and simply want the best money can buy, there's the BeoVision 9. I see it as the Bugatti Veyron/Maserati GranTurismo S of the TV world. It's a lot more expensive than it's competitors, and definitely a niche product, but worth every penny.

Can we please get back on the original topic - this conversation is frankly ridiculous and I'm in the same boat as Soundproof - it's discussions like these that prevent me from spending more time on BeoWorld. B&O's pre-christmas losses are IMO to be expected. They're re-aligning their portfolio behind the scenes and it's going to consume a lot of resources
-
You'll require a different BeoVision or a BeoSystem 3, the BeoVision 8 can't do surround sound unfortunately!
-
I would personally place the speakers directly either side of the sofa if you can't get them to mount behind.

The Cat Empire's Sol Y Sombra. I wish they'd do another UK tour - I've seen them two times and they've been amazing both times. Highly recommended.
