My thoughts exactly - I see no reason why not!

Have you downloaded the service manual? Which type is it?

The amplifier in the 9000, 8500, 9500 etc is fine. It is not as good as the 7000 or 8000 but is actually much the same as the amplifier in the MCL2P. I would say that is is not the most dynamic amp i can think of but is fine as long as you don't expect it to drive some weird speakers! Remember that most of what we listen to will rarely need more

I am going to pin this so it does not drop off the bottom! Remember all I want is your impression of the products you use, particularly if there is no review on site. It does not need to be technical - Beocentral does the clever technical review - this is to complement this - what you would liked to have known before you bought the product!

You can - one member was removing the colours from speakers just a year or so ago. You need chemicals!
-
You are using the power amp of the 6500 - the volume is controlled by the pre-amp - you don't need to play with the volume as the 9000 will control this. Set to Option 0 by pressing Sound 0 Store on a Beolink 1000. Keep the 9000 out of the way at this point!

I imagine the black anodised finish was scratched and the owner then removed the rest of the black.

Are you in the US? The nomenclature differed somewhat. I take it that the 1800 is the 80s model. Both are good decks and the choice of cartridge would be the decider. The 2402 should have a MMC20EN which is better than the MMC4 fitted to the 1800, assuming both are in good condition! Welcome to BeoWorld.

The US model of the BV8-40 seems to have three HDMI sockets - unusually for a set sold in the US, it does still have SCART sockets though.

Surely it is most likely that these have been removed because they don't work. It may well be that they just need a new capacitor in the servo board but they have probably not been treated with much care!
