  • Re: Avant , V8000,Sky

You will probably need the upgrade. There are a few more functions as you can now record but these are quite straightforward. Works well in link rooms too!

  • Re: Windows Media Center, Beoport or Mac Mini?

No. The iTouch is very good at browsing iTunes but is controlling the Mac, not the B&O. One needs a B&O remote to activate N.Music and to control volume etc. I am actually using Beolink 1000s and a Beo4 at present. The Beo5 I think will probably remain in my main room and be used for the Avant/Sky+.

Mac + Beoport + iTouch gives you two way remote control in link rooms. You do need the Beo4 to control volume and source selsection, but from that point on, the iTouch allows you to browse your library in any link room. Absolutely brilliant!

  • Re: Beogram 1000 needle replacement

I have an SP6/7 stylus I found the other day. I cannot guarantee its condition though it looks OK! Send me your address and you may have it as I don't have any Beograms that it fits anymore! Use the PM facility!

Would agree with this. The Sky+ box works brilliantly with the Avant. Seamlessly even!

  • Re: Remote? Lights?

Lutron do lights that work with B&O. Often sold in the dealers. The old lighting devices were really single light controllers but were very flexible and a good number could be controlled. The big advantage at the time was that they could be controlled through the two way Master Control Link System which allowed you to program lights to go on and

  • Re: What rear speakers for surround sound

I have 4000s on the wall just behind the sofa!

  • Re: Did this exist?

Not B&O. The Beocenter AV5 did have speakers that extended out when switched out but that was a TV/CD/Radio.

  • Re: What rear speakers for surround sound

Actually I am not a huge fan of rear speakers. You do need them I suppose but they are in my opinion the least cost effective part of the set up. 4000s or 6000s depending on where you want to put them will be fine. I prefer 4000s as speakers but they don't get that much of a work out!

  • Re: Beo5 - where are we?

This is batty! The Beo5 is a great remote - it just needs setting up properly! The iTouch cannot fully replace a B&O remote - though it makes N.Music on a Mac fantastic! However as far as I know, you need a Mac! The Beo5 makes using a B&O AV system much easier - fewer button presses and lovely graphics. It is also wonderfully tactile and the
