Two thoughts. Has he updated the software using the update patch? There is a serial number problem with the bases - I believe the dealers have been sent a fix for this too.

I have it too. Works well with BM-Link the way I use it - with an iPod Touch as remote. Doesn't like FileVault and Time machine working together. I had a number of crashes and freezes so I turned File Vault off and it seems fine again. I plan to actually do a clean install once I get my new 1 TB external HDD.

Actually not so sure! I am gradually moving to digital - I do have some beolits but I also have a couple of digital radios - my latest is a Pure Oasis. I use it in the bathroom as it is waterproof and has a rechargeable battery. Rather bigger than I expected but good tone and excellent reception. I would have bought a BS3 but it cannot receive some

I am afraid I am about to depart from the company line here. This is a mad situation. The Beo5 is extremely versatile but is not being allowed to be as most dealers seem unable to release its full potential. Customers are therefore having to make do with second rate configurations which disillusion them and quite frankly go back to using the Beo4. What

A stylus balance is a small device which will measure the tracking weight. B&O do one which is a little weighted see-saw but you can buy digital ones etc for ever increasing amounts of money! Try altering the tracking weight by half a gramme each way and see what it sounds like. Pick which is best!!

I think you are probably finding why CD4 didn't catch on!! There are some good ones on very heavy vinyl but I suspect the muddiness is the combination of the recording and the CD4 decoder. Not really sure where to go with this one. I got my 6000 system working just so I could say I did, didn't think that much of it and went back to stereo! The
