  • Re: vintage vs. modern B&O products

If it is sounding good to you, leave it alone! When something goes wrong, do it then. My old dealer actually re-capped a Beomaster 8000 for me - I am useless at this sort of thing! - and it cost less than £100 - well worth it for the improvement. I dare say Martin can tell you the scale of what needs doing!

  • Re: B&O Audiophile

auric: Hi: I'm wondering if anyone has come up with any mods/upgrades for BC9500 and or BM8000 Are there any recommended tweaks for the BM8000 other than recapping the unit? Perhaps upgrading the resistors in the audio path to 1% metal film? I've always found it interesting and curious why B&O always used lower spec'ed electronic components

I doubt very much that you would get any improvement at all! I think bigger speakers would give you some expansion of the covered frequencies - depending on your room, a pair of M75s or M100s would be a real upgrade to the bass and would work nicely with the excellent amplifier in your BC7000. The rosewood finish on these speakers are, by the way, to

  • Re: Cables - for the last time?

The problem I have is with Hi-Fi magazines peddling the nonsense that to get the best from your system that you need to spend what I regard as an obscene amount on cables. The reviews also bang on about the way the sound suddenly springs into focus and the great depth exposed by some mains cable. I think this is tantamount to fraud. Now I can tell the

  • Re: Beocenter 2 question

Probably - Lee has a non DAB one up for £1695. See if he has one and ask his price if I were you.

Splendid result for we cable sceptics. And well done to him for allowing this to happen.

  • Re: Serious configuration problems with Beo 5

I think the best way of using the Beo5 is to use it in a designated room - the most used one as one is likely to need the functions there. I think the problem is with multiple room set ups - particularly the really complicated ones - and I am going to simplify mine a bit. Make it three zone and see how things go. Mine is actually working very well but

  • Re: Beo 5 - Day 1

I think the two touch screen is absolutely fantastic!! What all touch sensitive screens should have - a bit of feedback. You did try it out in store first I take it? Surprised that the store didn't demonstrate it in your home when they set up the TV. That is usual practice.

  • Re: Changing Sources

Don't think your Beo5 is set up correctly!! When setting the Ciffer codes, you can choose the type of device that this is to operate . You seem to be getting generic codes. Obviously my system is different to yours but have not hit that problem. Can happily swap between DVD, DTV,TV etc.
