• Re: Condition of items on eBay

IMHO the batteries could be fresher

  • Re: Beosystem 5500 power connection

USA is definitely NOT 220V and unless you modify the units, you'll blow them up! They don't have external voltage selectors either, they will need rewiring at the transformers. The Beomaster can be rewired, but without checking, I'm not 100% sure of the others.

  • Re: Beolab 1 problem

If you can't switch cables, switch the speakers! You could test switching the offending speaker to "LINE" input (with no PL cable attached) and see if it still clicks. If it stays nicely in standby, the problem might be in the Powerlink socket of the speaker. Also, try powering the speaker from a different wall outlet in case the first

  • Re: Antenna Impedance?: New Member BM 7000 question
75 ohm(?) But don't quote me on this.
Correct. Older receivers may have the 300 ohm FM antenna socket as well, with two side-by-side connectors. 7000 doesn't, the similar looking connector is for AM. I think this round connector is most commonly called PAL in the US. The official name is IEC 60196

  • Re: MX4002 link aspect ratio problems
I think the MX4002 was developed at a time when all the videomasters were 4:3.
Probably yes, and actually aspect ratio switching is a non-trivial problem particularly for a link TV - almost all of the sources use pin 8 of the SCART for aspect ratio signalling, but that of course is not available for a link TV which

  • Re: Beogram 5005 lid adjustment

Perhaps somebody has a spare indicator arm - AFAIK it's the same regardless of the model or colour of the deck. But, it shouldn't be too difficult to fabricate a replacement window. I would start with laser printer proof overhead projector slides, then some diffuser film (scratched plastic or thin white paper)...

  • Re: Beogram 5005 lid adjustment
By the way, there is no 33/45 indication, just two red lights. Is anything missing?
Probably the plastic window that has the fake 7-segment displays (and yes, as far as I know the lids are all like that, no matter which model)

  • Re: Beogram 5005 lid adjustment

Just to make sure, have you seen one of these decks up close before? That stupid 3-4 mm gap belongs there. The front should be more or less flush, however Can't remember any adjustment as such either. Perhaps some of the mountings allow for some play, I dunno...

  • Re: MX4002 link aspect ratio problems

Well, I think it is just one of those unexplainable things... as far as I know, the MX4002 (and all the other Unity/Unity2 chassis TVs as well) are indeed unable to switch the aspect ratio: they are 4:3 only. Also, the Avant has no scaling hardware, it can only alter the aspect ratio of its own display. Therefore, 16:9 material should be letterboxed

  • Re: Beovox tweeter replacement
A 6.63uF (exact value)capacitor will be hard to find by itself.
...but 6.8 uF, which is in the regular E6/E12 value series, won't. Remember that conventional aluminum electrolytics (bipolar or not) are far from precision components. The specified tolerances can easily be 10-20% either way. And you'll never
