Clakke, the BeoSystem 3 is an extremely high-end processor. As with many high-end products the decisions made are carefully considered. DVI is the video component of the HDMI protocol and can be converted with a simple adaptor. If you speak to the video engineers in Denmark they explain that you should not send sound to a video monitor. I can't

The BeoSystem 3 is a terrific cinema master and can help coordinate the whole experience. We use mostly Sim2 projectors for higher end theater rooms and Samsungs or Sim2 Dominos for the lower end budget theaters. For speakers we generally use BeoLabs or Genelecs as the loudspeakers. Of course there are several other devices that are common in theater

Not sure where you're located, but the cost to have the BeoLab 5s converted to native voltage is on the high side. May still be a bargain, but after freight and alteration you may be better off negotiating a good deal with your local retailer. That way you'll also have a good contact who's invested in keeping you happy. Good luck either

I'm not sure what's meant by "toned glass" but the cabinets have door panels that are interchangeable (sold separately) that come in brushed aluminum (like the stand bases), gloss black (like the BeoLab 4000s), gloss white (like the BeoCom 2), or mirrored aluminum (like hotrod chrome). The interior shelves are clear glass.

A. I agree with Jeff, that in your current setup, the BeoLab 4000s are being wasted. Switch with the CX100s for the best result. B. 7.1 does not have a rear center channel, that's 6.1. I don't believe that the BeoSystem 3 decodes true 6.1 anyway and I also understand from some light internet work that it's even more obscure than 7.1.

Good to hear about your success! Burantek is right that there are very very few of these sold solo to clients. Most dealers can't even understand them.

I would say this is authentic. The BeoVision 7 is made without a DVD transport which looks just like the picture and the stand is the BeoLab 7 table stand (which would mean that the BV7 is on a wall bracket). It's an odd little setup, but almost certainly authentic.

As far as a recording that's equally as satisfying to listen to as to promote the quality of the speakers it plays on would be Nick Lowe, The Convincer.
