I think it may have to do with use, if I dont play my BG 2404 at least 2 times a week, the control buttons kind of stop working and I have to press them varius times to get them working again. Clean all old grease and lubricate all moving mecanical parts, carefully with a strip of paper wettet with iso alcohol, clean the contacts, check the manual and check the adjustment part and lubricating chart.
