soundproof: I've had very good experiences bypassing the audio out from Macs using either the toslink optical out, or USB or FireWire out feeds, to stand-alone DACs and receivers that take these signals. You then connect the speakers to them. It may sound OK using the analog out from the minijack on a Mac, but when you do it right, you'll be

camshaft: Always the American jokes.... Yes always!

Nobody is quaking over at Microsoft. They make money regardless of what people buy. Although with the EU fine of $1.3 billion dollars, they may have lost somewhat. Just like B&O, Apple will probably never have a majority market share. However unlike B&O, Apple's market share is rising in spite of the current economic conditions. Here is

Peter : I will therefore not tell you that I got a MacBook Air today! Congratulations Peter! I got my MacBook Air last week and have been really enjoying it. The design is really elegant and the build quality exquisitely well done.

TripEnglish: Russ. The kittens wanted the Glass Engine to be a surpise. The kittens feel that bringing Philip Glass into a conversation is elitist. I checked with the puppies and they said the Glass engine is indeed brilliant and would be fun. However I was purchasing a book on Amazon after my last post when I realized where all the online content and

Roger: Bingo, you may think of it as a BeoMedia with hands-on operation. It is a product along the lines of the iPod Touch, but ment as a stationary audio system - with an interface more similar to that of the Serenata (and not the mentioned Apple product). The software will also be available in a BeoMedia 1 version, which will be uploaded automatically

Alex: If an american company will takeover they wil exploiting the company and then close it. Alex. I know you probably made this remark because of what is happening to your favorite brand. It certainly is frustrating to know B&O is not doing as well as we have hoped and that it may be taken over by a company that doesn't care about B&O's

Alex: The latest interface doesn't really do much for me, although it is much more functional than the previous 'Front Row' one (which was very elegant, but not the most functional of designs). The real winner for me is the fact that it now doubles up as an AirTunes station. The movie rentals are also brilliant, and very good quality indeed

Graham1982: I guess she means and I follow her argument to some extent that Ipods are or were pricey for the sake of it. So are B&O but they have always been and are/were more innovative than most other products. It would appear from the responses in this thread that in this case like with the B&O mobiles (in my opinion) that the MP3s are not

Jandyt: TripEnglish: Halleluja!! At last some positive feelings I thought it was just me that noticed so much doom and gloom. First Torbens exit Then Ed's Then the 'end of B&O' thread I even got chastised by a fellow Beoworlder for making pleasantries on what was supposed to be a serious thread. Let's lighten up, life's too short
