  • Re: Help: B&O Cassette Players

The 9000 was probably the best though to be honest, a 8004 or even a 5000 can possibly match it in performance. That is because the clever trick of the 9000 was calibrating the tapes and just after it was introduced, the tape manufacturers standardised them much more closely. Therefore the best method is to pick a tape and set up the cassette deck for

  • Re: When and how did your Beo-fever start?

I started because my father bought a Beovision 3400SJ which was brilliant. The dealer who sold B&O was also wonderful - Windows of the Arcade - and I wish they still sold B&O. I was at Medical School in Newcastle and so visited the shop regularly and started buying then. I still pop in from time to time as although they don't sell B&O

  • Re: Beoport and Beosystem 6500

Don't think it will work. There is another solution - have a look here . Designed for your era of system.

  • Re: Beovox C40 speakers

Agree with Alex. Especially about the bass drivers. These actually use quite an expensive driver - not the same as the later CX50 - and these are rather expensive. I use some CX100s with my Mac using a Beomaster 5500 as the amplifier - works very well.

  • Re: DVD2 with AVANT VCR

Agree with above. V.Mem2/V.Tape2 would seem the best though DVD2 should work as well.

  • Re: Quick Questions - Ouverture & 2500

Very similar - the Ouverture replaced the 2500 but is just an updated model. Both require active speakers or you can get a MCL2P power amplifier and use your present speakers. An alternative is the Beocenter 9300 which is essentially an Ouverture in a different box but with a power amplifier built in. As far as differences are concerned, none that would

  • Re: DVD2 region free?

The Beonic Man: I wasn't aware I could set the region Peter? Just checked - you will need your dealer to do this as it needs the service tool software. Shame - on the Avant, you can do it yourself!

  • Re: DVD2 region free?

The Beonic Man: I would be grateful for a region hack for the Mark III BV7-40 if there is anyone available. I have no idea what the Phillips model number is but if one of you does know that would be a great help. I too have 99% of my DVDs in Region 1. Thanks. Simon. If 99% are Region 1, I would set it to Region 1. The DVD in the BV7 is probably a Pioneer

    Here! Is that OK?

  • Re: iPhone or Serenata

Agree with Soundproof. Actually I think B&O offers something a bit special to the middle classes. By its very nature it cannot be that exclusive or the price would be astronomical and would no longer attract those it is aimed at. It has the design flare that promises a lot and the performance to make sure it is not regarded as a joke. However it
