• Re: B&O News

Don't go anywhere jonnyb, blame me for not reading that post of yours properly to the end on the first time! But Philippe summarized exactly why it went that way - the number of threads that have converged on the same thing count probably in the dozens by now...
Which is what I already wrote above.
No it's not. You were wondering why B&O hasn't paid to have Apple Lossless. There reason is that it is not for sale. EDIT: Your edit above seems to be a more accurate interpretation, all good now
No indeed, but my point was that Phil seemed to be saying that B&O haven't licensed Apple Lossless because they'd need to pay for it whereas AAC was an 'open standard', ie i was questioning whether Phil thought that AAC was free. Since both aren't free I wonder why B&O have paid for AAC but
I thought AAC also had to be licensed from Dolby Labs who are the main original inventor?
Not a problem at all if they openly license it! Dolby B and C both needed to be licensed (and HX Pro actually brought money from other manufacturers to B&O). VHS recorders usually carried a number of licenses from JVC

  • Re: Deault TV Channel at switch on

I don't think there is a way to program a default channel. If you press TV on the remote, the set should turn on with the program number you were last watching. But I suggest you connect the box via a SCART cable if you have a free socket left on the TV, you'll get a better picture as well. Or just to keep it simple, why don't you tune preset

Stock price now at +17%, hovering about 72 DKK with lots more willing buyers than sellers. Which is nice. US bankruptcy now compensated, but still some way to go to the March figures...

  • Re: break point.....break the bank!

Quite affordable delivery, though It must be one of those folks who think that anything with "B&O" on it is worth a fortune. Or then there really is something in this book. There's another (used, in Danish) one at US Amazon for $1,596.95...

  • Re: cleanning a Beosystem 7000

Yes, the ventilation grilles are pretty good at collecting dust. Still, I would try with just a moist cloth first - unless cigarette tar is involved, the black dirt will wipe off easily. If these have been in a really dusty place, it will be a good idea to blow away any dust from the insides as well if you decide to take off the covers.

  • Re: Boecord 5000 tray problem
And why does the motor continues spinning after the drawer has reaches its end stops?
Because there are no end switches! The motor control only has a timeout, just like the doors in BC9000 and descendants. You'll need to clean and relube the rails as well (and any related wheels/rollers, I can't remember
Did you have any advices for removing the top cover of the beosystem?
The instructions should actually be printed on the bottom plate of the components. It's rather easy, you loosen the two big screws on the edges of the back panel (do NOT remove them!), slide them up, and tighten again. Sounds odd the first
