I doubt they are fake but I would check that they are not stolen or not paid for! Serial numbers would be nice to check with B&O.

You need an amplifier really - with a dedicated PHONO input . This will amplify the signal to line level. Or get an external RIAA. I use Toast on my Mac but there are lots of software programs out there. Record as WAV files if I were you and put them on CD. You then have a lossless copy and can then compress to MP3 if you wish.

If there is no red light, then I suspect a fuse or a component failure. Either way, something inside has failed. Do check any external fuse but this is probably a symptom rather than a cause. I am afraid that sounds like a service issue.

The platter does just lift off but this is a lot trickier to do than is said!! A couple of credit cards - one under each side usually works! The service manual looks completely unhelpful about the anti skating!! I suggest looking around the arm pillar!
