  • Re: Buying a pair of B&O headphones, What do you recommend?

I love those!! I have thought about Stax headphones from time to time - but discounted them for similar reasons! Seriously though, a good pair of headphones give sound reproduction like no speaker. The perspective changes and they can be very annoying with a poor source, but one can really immerse oneself! I'll have to get mine back sometime...

Have a pair of those too and I prefer Form 1s. The U70s sounds fine but are not that comfortable - better than they look they are going to be though! - and again are not a patch on the HD600s.

I wouldn't! A8 are great as mobile earphones. I have all the other B&O headphones and none are a patch on my Sennheisser HD600s or Lee's Grado RS1s. I find Form 2s uncomfortable as the headband rests on your head and Form 1s, as well as no longer being available, are simply not that great! They are the best ones though. By the way, I noticed

  • Re: Service manuals

Afraid not. These TV manuals are tricky to find and most are incomplete. I have very few TV manuals and those I do are just too big to scan in their entirity. The MX3500 was not one of mine though. If anyone has scanned copies of the Beovision series we don't have, they will be gratefully accepted!

  • Re: Best B&O cassette deck?

It is very difficult to get perfect azimuth settings with a rotating head. Some autoreverse decks got around this by turning the cassette!

henrik: I've got two 9000s, a 7000m, the old 5000 and a 6500. The 9000 is definitely my favourite, Imho 6500/7000 only offers poor sound quality - the frequency response is, well, ok, but the deck sounds a bit loose and non-precise. Transients do not sound like transients, bass drums sound more like whoom than boom. The 8000/8002/8004/9000 series

auric: Hi Peter: I left everything in auto mode, ie auto levels. To be quite honest I was quite disappointed at how poorly it recorded. Without NR it was rather hissy and gritty sounding. The 8002 is quieter and cleaner sounding. I also prefer recording without NR. The highs always suffers on the 8002 with NR so I prefer recording as is. If you've

  • Re: 8002 spontaneously ends play

The circuit boards do seem to differ - there is a separate circuit diagram for the 8000 in an earlier manual. I think that the 8000 was improved during production though so I can imagine that it varies!! I will get the other manual on site when I can.

The 9500 deck is very similar to the 5500. Did you use the automatic level control or did you over ride it? I always record manually and don't use any NR. I would rather have some tape hiss than the pumping one gets with Dolby.
