I have the most recent software update. I just spoke with B&O U.S. tech support, who told me that it is impossible to have Apple fast-scroll via the Beosystem 1 or Avant. :(

I agree with the points made by Tripp and Russ. I might add a few more observations. You can easily expand the number of RGB/Component inputs by using a Zektor switch box. Often, there are nice prices for these on ebay. The US Avant actually has an option in the setup menu to add control of a Zektor switch. Also, the most recent Avant software provides

Thanks for the link; however, I still have the problem of fast-scrolling. I'm using the "Apple Remote" devise control for the latest BS1/Avant code converter database. This still doesn't seem to solve the lack of fast scrolling issue. My understanding is that it has to do with the way that the Beo 4 handles "long IR" commands

Maybe Keith Saunders has some suggestions?

It certainly would be nice to do away with the need to press go after every command. The extra button push is very annoying and non-intuitive compared to the control of most other dvd players. On a related issue, does anyone know if updating the software on a pre-divx version of Beocenter 2 will enable it to play divx? Is it merely a software upgrade

Has anyone had success adjusting the Beo5 to control fast scrolling of the Apple TV? If so, please share details.

Unfortunately, you can't control the on/off of the PS3 with just the USB-IR dongle. The dongle requires the power from the USB in order to receive IR commands. There is, however, a recent solution by Schmartz that provides on/off control by attaching a sticker to the on/off touch-sensitive button; however, the cost is $50. My understanding is that

Have you tried pushing the source button again on the beo4/beo5 after the disc starts? Blu-ray and HD DVD players are notorious for their long start-up times, resulting in the video sync with the Beosystem being lost. Pushing the source button (e.g., V.AUX, etc.) again will force a re-sync with the video.

Addressing the initial request on this thread about which BD player to use: The Beosystem 1 currently offers IR control of the Sony, Samsung, and Panasonic Blu-Ray players. I should think that the BS3/BV7 will offer even more options for compatibility. With the Beo 5, you can program the inner and outer directional buttons on the round part of the remote

The Lintronic website details instructions to connect a cable between the Lintronic IR converter and a Beosystem in order to use just one IR receiver. However, Lintronic does not make the cable to do this. It would be necessary to have an understanding of the correct pin connections and the skills to solder in order to make this cable ourselves.
