mason: "Little thought to design"... yeah right! Just because a product doesn't scream look at me does not equate to little thought concerning design. The BV8 is a beautiful design, elegant and discreet – just like the MX before it. It has a superb picture and excellent sound. I have a white BV8 32 with Beocenter 2 and Beolab 3's

I'd like to think so Roger, thanks. But most,, if not all, previous B&O designs have always had the wow factor for me, but not this one. But, as I said, I've not seen it 'live' so to speak, so I may be doing the design a gross injustice.

I appreciate that 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder', but every time I see pictures of the BV8 it looks like a TV sat on a narrow shelf, with little thought to design. I do hope though, like many B&O products, it does in fact look fabulous 'in the flesh'. Anyone else think the same?

timhanna: Hi, I had a look at the light, but had second thougts about rewiring it because i dont want to end up wrecking them... i guess ill have to purchase a new lamp(s) and make sure that they dont have dimmers! Thanks redfresnel Wimp!! Get on with it.

BEOKNOW: Early BV3 do not have pin code. That wil explain why I followed the advice given above and it didn't work! Thanks for that. I did come across 'Theft Protection' though which is shown as 'on'. How does this operate?

It was bought new and I don't have any PIN. Thanks Ralf for your information, much appreciated.

ChrDH: Hi There I have a bit of a odd problem. The store button on the glass-panel of my new Beomaster 3500 seems not to work. It is not responding when i try to store a new sound level on the beomaster. Is it common that buttons fail, or could it be a circuit-problem inside? The goto-button next to it works just fine. Thanks Best regards Christian

The Stig - ver. 1.7: It's because there bin used a wrong pin code 3 times. you have to wait 3 h with the TV in standby. Since I purchased my 32" Beovision 3 it has always been used so I have not experienced this 'problem'. BUT, just in case it happens to me, how do I obtain/determine my PIN?

Can't say without knowing what bulb it is, but most lamps are just a way of containing a bulb and the wiring to it! The differences in design of the outward casing are what makes them attractive to us. I'm pretty sure the 'problem' lies with the fact that the lamps have their own dimmer circuit which you are trying to connect into with

I'm sure those with electrical expertise will be able to give a technical response as to the reason why, but I'm sure that this type of lamp will not work with the LC2. If the lamps are as you say 'very nice' then why not rewire them internally, direct to the bulb/holder, dispensing with the lamps' built in touch dimmer functions
