Thanks Martin & Martin - good points. I'm considering changing the CDM2/10 (also labelled CDM-2 03011 - see picture) to a CDM4. Have any of you ever done this / had experience / know which version of the CDM4 would be suitable? I do have a source for a new CDM4 at a reasonable price, but I would still like to be sure that an upgrade is possible

After replacing the caps, the laser current should be readjusted. I've posted a short Workshop how to do this, here. http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/t/26384.aspx Menahem

Now, I could return the CD mechanism back to its normal position in the cabinet. Thanks to good engineering, a small hole is conveniently located in the cabinet base directly in-line with the pot, enabling access from the underside of the cabinet (I believe that the BeoGram CD has a similar access hole). The 2 wires are now draped over the CD player

I have now finished the repair of my Philips CD650. The most complicated part of the repair was getting the CD to play all my discs, without skipping, or any other problems. This CD player (made by Philips in Belgium) has the Philips CDM2 CD laser mechanism and transport. This is exactly the same mechanism as is found in the BeoGram CD5xxx range, as

Firstly, there is no "specification". The rule is what works, works. Suffice to say that there are many different quality belts, all vendors selling for what the market will bear. Some are garbage, some are good quality, and others are excellent quality. I have been buying from this ebay vendor for many years, for my own and for customer repairs

This is a BIG, BIG, BIGGGG thank you, in the most public way, to Mika Iisakkila. He took care of sourcing the IC's in Estonia - Mika's Finland being close by. My CD is up and playing again, better than new - and 22 years old. The forum members are great people - looking beyond borders to help one another. Way to go, Mika!!!! Menahem

Not sure if the transport/laser is by Philips, but if it is, you can definitely get the parts here. Check first with the service manual which exact Philips unit it is, before you buy. http://www.ersatzteil.justone-schnepel.de/html/uebersichtsliste_lasereinheite.html Regards Menahem

I've not opened up the inside of a CD3300 to see which laser/transport it has, but if it is a Philips, here is a good source of Philips units. A bit expensive, but other users of another tech forum to which I belong are satisfied with this supplier. http://www.ersatzteil.justone-schnepel.de/index.html Regards Menahem

Hi Mika, A man of many talents!! Eero in Talinn replied to me and confirmed that 4 are in stock at Eu4.40 each. That is a super price. I advised him that you would be contacting him to confirm the order. So, please go ahead and let me know how much I should send you, including shipping. On your BM5000, I'm not familiar with the 8751 or 8255 - what
