The 4000 is the best by a good margin. It is massively over-engineered and is very simple to use. I have the simpler 4002 which again is very easy to use and is well built too. The 8000 series is very nice sounding. I have an 8002 and with an MMC2 this is a really sweet sounding deck. In my opinion pretty much everything else is not in the same league

The 'A' at the end of the 1541A signifies the better DAC made by Philips as used in the BC9500 and BM4500 models amongst others. It's quite well thought of in audiophile circles - Peter will be able to elucidate more on this one as it's one of his favourites :)

My very limited content management experience of websites taught me that too many clicks/layers to get to menus = bad. There are too many clicks to get into each forum so you can see all the posts listed. Can we have the old 'main' forum page back at www.beoworld.org/forums please???
Agree - a good set of fullsize headphones would be a great introduction and could also "say" something about the company's core product and design/technology. I'd certainly rather be given something like that than a Beotime!
Yep - £275 for a remote and bog-standard LCD alarm/flute combo

Oooo. Me like 70s retro styling :D Why don't B&O knock out some 'new' U70s a la the 'new' Beetle or 'new' Mini?
How about an entire "Classic Series"? No software, no BS... just plug and play! Would sell like hotcakes! IMHO, of course

Hi Kevin I noticed you recently replaced a 800x series turntable with this 4002. How did that compare with the Grado conversion on your 4002? I had a good MMC2 on my 8002 and that took some beating, so it would be interesting to hear what you think the difference is between the decks and proprietary/non-proprietary cartridges.

Is the old 'Forums' main page coming back or is it gone forever? I found it really useful to see what the latest post was on each forum, particularly when using my iPhone to browse the site.
