  • Re: This will be hard to beat!!

Underneath, as a BeoLab 7-1 or 7-2. A decent speaker underneath this Panasonic would look awful.

Very boring IMO. I wouldn't want one that thin - where do the speakers go?

j0hnbarker: Alex: Very nice - a BeoSystem 6000 or 8000 is something I would love to own but simply don't have the space and/or money! I already have far too much hifi as it is and I'm going to be in student accommodation within the year. Is that the stock D60 lens? Surprising presence of Bokeh which I wouldn't expect from a 'basic'

  • Re: Which MK is my BV 7-40 - how can I find out

I wouldn't say it's not so simple, there are quite a few chances to (majorly) screw things up inside the TV in the process of doing it. You do it at your own risk if you want to.

  • Active Listening XII

Just a quickie, does anybody have a copy of Active Listening XII? I'm trying to find out what the recordings are, particularly the Duruflé, Stravinsky and Graupner (tracks 4, 5 and 6). They are simply stunningly good recordings (in fact the Graupner is the best classical recording I've yet listened to). If anybody could check in their copy to see if

  • Re: Replacement subwoofers?

Yes, it is rather fiddly. You need to make sure the driver is perfectly aligned or else the coil will rub against the magnet which A) produces a horrible 'scraping' sound and B) wrecks the driver. Without wanting to be rude or arrogant though, the Realistics would be good speakers to try it out on. The drivers are large which IMO makes things a little

  • Re: BeoLab 9 & sub-woofer

Going back to the original topic, from a personal point of view, I would much more rather have BeoLab 9s without the BeoLab 2, than say, BeoLab 9s or 8000s with a BeoLab 2. The pros of having a BeoLab 2 with the BeoLab 9s are essentially, more bass (note more , not necessarily better). This can be a huge advantage if you're a big movie fan and your

  • Re: Advice needed for selection of rear spekers

The problem with BeoLab 6000s as rears is that due to the height of the drivers, they usually end up firing into the back of a sofa! BeoLab 8000s are a little higher which helps lift them to just the right height (usually). How about moving your BeoLab 8000s to the back and getting some BeoLab 9s to go at the front? In terms of the money you'll be spending

  • Re: Replacement subwoofers?

I would have them refoamed to be honest! There seems to be no useful information about the cones on the internet other than their free-air resonant frequency. Refoaming them should retain the same specifications of driver.
