Hi Martin, Yes there is a hole at the bottom of my Beogram 8000 shaft. Its bearing is of very high quality and the platter will rotate for AGES when launched by hand! Not so the end of production Beogram 4000 like mine. It is a pretty machine ruined by a poor bearing. It is quite a contrast to the one shown here by Olly! It is noisy. Of course you can't

It just won't go. But anyway, I'll wait till I find a suitable replacement. Thanks for the suggestions!

Alright, they do have it, but it is not possible to have it machined (too soft). The smallest thickness is 1 mm. The guy advised Nylon instead, because it has to be pierced!

Hi, There is no need to remove anything before doing it. Just follow the procedure I give in both posts (on page 2 here you'll find the link to the other one) just being careful of those thin wires! Patience and the circlip tool (quite cheap, can't do without) will lead to success I'm sure, provided you haven't touched any other setting

Well I can't flip it, so I'm going to stick to my teflon film for now. Definitely something for Martin, this!
