Beo; Two different components. One quite mobile, one more stationary. Both very enjoyable. The Beosound 1 is a single unit of 5 speakers, and can be moved around relatively easy. Left, Right, angled, 3 metres over, outside, etc. There are optional wall mounts, a metal stand on a single leg, and a swivel-mounted metal cabinet, open at either side for

Mine works fine. I use it with a Nokia 9500 Communicator. The sound is fine, and it's easy to answer a call or turn on and off with the small switch in the back of the unit. I charge it overnight. Zero experience with a PC, but the PC is connected to my Beoport and BS 3200 which at that point I would rather listen to without anything in the ear

Tom makes a good point about speaker placement, and where the listener is sitting or standing with regards to the BL 4000 (and any speaker for that matter). But your post idea and subsequent comments got me thinking that little comparison might be interesting. This was strictly subjective perception, and non-scientific. I took out a CD of Von Karajan's

Hello Oasis; I think this is an excellent idea, and one that Bang & Olufsen could pursue. I would be easy enough and would serve to protect the looks and function of the BS 3. In taking the original " portable " Beosound 1 here and about, and having scratched two BS 1 grille covers over the past 5 years, you take chances with your investment

The also have metal speaker stands, or small plastic table stand options. They do not have to be placed next to your PC: In fact, I would say they would sound better if each were well spread apart. The Bl 4000

Hello Beo; You are facing the point we have all experienced in the beginning: Where to start. For the need you describe, Beosound 1 sounds like the best solution for you if you are considering price. The newer units will play MP3 burned-CD's, and regular store purchased CD's. You probably know that there is a AUX connection port at the bottom

QUESTION: Where are the Inspectors in this scheme ? ANSWER: Also in on the " payroll, " apparently. Doing the math, this is profitable in a short span of high-volume manufacturing. It is illegal, unsafe ( electrocutions+ fires ) and unsound for any manufacturer in the long-run who values a good reputation in the Industry. Any random inspection

Good thread going here.I have already learned a couple of points just reading it. I just cleaned my BEO 4 in Brasil last week, after a party. The remote really moved around, inside and out on the terrace. Not real dirty, but with the humidity and 1000 fingers palying with the remote, it was time. I used a cloth, Q-Tips for keypads and edging, dipped

On more than one occasion during installations I've found myself sleeping on the couch . . . . . comfortably numb.
