• Re: BeoCom 5 software update?
Only one problem was fixed from veraion 2.1 to 2.2 and that is if you are in a call and you place the phone on the speaker it ends the phone call.
That fixes my problem then :) My problem was exactly that (see the original post) and I had v2.1 installed on the BeoCom 5s. Both were upgraded from 2.1 to
Does any other phone in your home display Caller ID?
Yes, it's the service company (BT) providing the info as we opted in to receiving caller-ID on our lines. Previously we had BT digital phones on the two office lines but ditched them as the quality was so poor. You could barely hear the other person

  • Re: Cleaning the screen on Beovision 7
Ignored the cleaning agent but use the microfibre cloths and utensil to great effect.
Yep, do! This doesn't work well on BV7 at all. I tried using it a while back and it just smears. In the end I had to use a lot of hot water and hard work to remove it and buff the screen without smears. The BV7 MKIV appears

  • Re: BeoCom 5 software update?
Thank you. Did you figure out the changes already? Is Caller Identification for incomming calls now implemented?
No, I think only the dealer has this info. I tried taking a look through the changelog, but it wasn't extensive. Caller ID has always worked? My handsets had software build 2.1 (Nov 2010) and
Does the SW update need the speakerphone as well or just the mobile handset?
Just the handset. Took 5 minutes per handset. Took both to my dealer and was out in 15 minutes. It can only be done by your dealer, though.

  • Re: BeoCom 5 software update?

In case anyone else is wondering, the answer is that the BeoCom 5 is software updatable. Took both handsets to my dealer today who noticed they were at 2.1 (Nov 2010) and updated them to the most recent 2.3 software. No idea what this does or offers nor whether it fixes the above problem (yet).

  • BeoCom 5 software update?

I've noticed a small problem with the BeoCom 5 where it occasionally hangs up on the caller when I put the phone down on the speakerphone base (after answering and when I want to put the caller on speaker). It doesn't happen every time, but happens fairly frequently. Worse, put the phone on the base and I start talking and realise the other

  • Re: Opinion of BeoSound 8

I'm also tempted by a BeoSound 8. The only thing that's putting me off is the potential addition of AirPlay in the near future. Don't underestimate this feature. It would enable you to use your iPhone or iPad as a "remote" rather than having to connect the device to the BS8 each time you want to hear music, radio etc. Ideal for

  • Re: What colour to go for?

I see no problem in this at all. As most people keep their B&O kit long-term, why not make it easier to live with by customising it a bit? Only snag could be when you move and the old colour doesn't fit the new place. As for the durability, what are people doing with their B&O equipment? It's much easier to scratch alumnimum, which is

  • Re: Bv4-85
Then again, I think the pricing of the Beolab 5 is quite reasonable - many would think otherwise....
I can't remember seeing a single person who has argued that BL5s are "overpriced", which means that just about everyone would agreed they are quite reasonably priced. Indeed, compare the BL5s price
