Yes, you can be proud. Yet another 4002 saved from the tip! And I agree with Martin, no problem here, you can tell us who you are!

Hi,
My guess would be a problem with dirty contacts on the mute relay?
Well, remember the relay grounds both channels when the deck is at rest, until the stylus touches down, so if it is the problem then it is stuck, not dirty! Also check on the solder joints at the DIN socket. On one of my BG one connection

Ah, well done, well done!

Mine looks like this (made in Germany):
The behavior I am seeing is that the solenoid shaft shoots out when energized, but when STOP is pressed, it DOES NOT snap back in, but rather acted like a damper , and just slowly goes back in.
Jacques I have two cartriges I think an SP12 and 14. I will check to see how they are and take a snap later. Maybe I could send you one to test and then you could decide what you feel it's worth. I will get back to you with a photo in a bit!
Thanks, mate!

Thanks Peter, but I understand I'd need a donor cartridge to have it repaired, wouldn't I?

Hi, Earlier today I posted an inquiry about where to find an SP 12 cartridge. It was duly erased. I apologize, and I understand that I had no right to post it! So let me put it another way: does anybody know of any source where I could get one of these? Should I go for an SP10 instead? Thanks, and again, sorry.
