I just want to say - I have recently repaired a couple of these and was shocked to see the batteries charge at a rate of near 300mA, for a good number of hours until a predetermined voltage is reached. The charge process is then pulsed every few seconds as if to determine cell voltage. I am not surprised that there are so many problems with replacement

So what we have here is that a 1k resistor between the output of the 74 to the input of the micro and this alone has made a difference... While everything is working, why not try bridging the resistor with a much lower value - measure the voltages again to assertain the current flowing and to ensure both sides are near enough hitting suppy and ground

The speakers work as active by the fact that the speaker output from the 8000 is attenuated then re-amplified by the penta amp! Not really ideal! The mod I did is simple enough - Prepare two lengths of wire with a DIN male on the end.. This will attach to the binding post of the speakers remove the penta amp, but watch the DIN plug and the wires that

Shouldn't get as warm on 240V Jacques so should be fine! One thing to add to Mika is when you hit the test button, the speaker to listen to is the left one as this contains the L-R signal. Great feature but you will never get a silent signal as both channels won't be that equal even with a perfect mono source! PSU transistors are on the right

Oh and the white Beo4, is that a shadow in the lower half or is it purposely shaded? If so it looks kind of good, almost a compliment of the lcd screen....
