I sent the deck to a guy recommended by this forum and he said unusually he thinks it's the laser. He has one or two final checks to complete, but at this stage he say's the prognosis isn't looking good. So if anyone can help with a laser unit, please step forward. Cheers

Hi Guys, I think I may have a problem with my CD50............ I've had a specialist look at it and he tells me the laser may be in need of replacement. Doubt this is a replacement part, could anyone possibly help? Cheers Steve

So I may be stating the obvious but, having listened to very average record decks and average moving coil cartridges from the 80's (Ortofon erc) I wandered what the big deal was until.......... I fired up an MMC 2 on my Beogram 4500 and was quite knocked back by it's clarity but maybe that was down to the quality of the Penta's.........

I've been lucky enough to try the MMC cartridge range from MMC 2 to 5 and was blown away. Has anyone else expeienced the difference? The MMC 5 sounded pretty good, played on basic 80's vinyl but when I heard the MMC2 - woooooooo - what a difference By the way is there an MMC1 Additionally is there really any difference on the type of deck it's

I own a number of B&O 80's music centers and Beosytems and would like to know if the aluminium panels are readily available? I'm guessing not, but would welcome any solutions. Cheers.

Could anyone possibly tell me if spares are available for the cd5500? I'm actually after replacing the entire lid of the deck, it's quite heavily marked both on the ali panel and the plastic. Failing that, could anyone help regarding the whereabouts of said lid. Cheers

Can anyone tell me if the Beocord 5500 is a "rare animal" ? I've looked on all the obvious sites including our sponsors site but can't locate one. Does anyone know of such an item or looking to part/sell one? It will finish off a system, i'm putting together. Thanks in anticipation
