  • Ben is a good fellow!

Just a quick public acknowledgement to Ben for being a stand-up guy. The MMC 20 stylus guard he posted me for free just arrived. What a pleasure to have people in this community who do good deeds without compensation. Thank you Ben and have a long and extrodinary life! Phil

  • Re: Refinish 4002 controls

great job! looks like about as close as one can possibly come. I agree! Very nice. Maybe I should refinish these-otherwise the TTs pretty mint. So what's the secret formula?

I'm coming around to your point of view-why the hell worry about some worn keypads, there's more important things in life! like getting another 8002 running. Got any 8002 parts, like the main circuitboard complete OR the the processor can OR the 40 pin processor inside? (if you had an un-worn 4002/4 keypad, I'd be interested in it). If you're

  • 4002: no 45spd after recapping/lamp replacement

"A week has passed-I just got a DIN adapter and several bulbs to try as the "33" bulb is burned out. Properly connected to my system both cartridges play fine-excellent! And after a little lubing, the arm sevo system is much quieter. All functions seem good. However, if I try putting any new bulb across the 33 circuit, the machine shifts

I would like to see a picture. The factory finish isn't laquer as laquer thinner doesn't affect it. It seems to be some kind of clear-coat that has a honey/taupe tint to it. It would be nice to get a spare keypad to experiment on.

  • !@#$!! EBay

So someone outbid my $26.50+12.00 shipping for 4002 keypad in the last 30secs of auction, as USUAL! Does anybody want to sell me a 4002/4 keypad in need of refinishing so I can fiure out how to refinish them without destroying the only one I've got?

  • Re: BG4002 Parting out

Ben, Apparently someone else sees value in a junk cartridge-I've been outbid and when I raised it was covered. Good ole EBay! So if I could procure your parts cartridge for $20 incl postage, I'd take it. Let me know. Phil

  • Re: BG4002 Parting out

That would be me. I need a stylus guard for a MMC 4000, and because he combines shipping, and I already bid on the keyboard that needs refinishing (hint: experiment), I figured for 10 bucks it would be reasonable. PS: the 4002 is re-capped and nearly done; more about that later

  • Re: Problem with Beogram 8002..

Congrats on a great machine. It almost certainly needs capacitor replacement. (both of mine did). Replace the caps and begin enjoying. If it has another cause (unlikely) it will be easier to nail it down with capacitors out of the mix. phil

  • Re: Refinish 4002 controls

The button-panel is brushed stainless steel; the areas where the clear-coat is worn off are quite silvery/shiny despite the brushed finish; the "clear-coat" seems to have a fair amount of taupe/gold/brown hue to it. Carburetor cleaner (laquer thinner) doesn't dissolve it. It would be difficult to spray paint it and maintain the proper
