Yes - but the TV may require a software update depending on age and whether the previous owner has already applied this. I recall the black menus came with V5.x onwards. I would be certain that in order to insert the DVB-HD module , an update to the latest software would be done at the same time. The current rev is 7.05.

You are absolutely right that there is an Intel Architecture PC inside. From what has been previously seen on the web, its an average powered system board by todays standards running Windows XP Embedded. I guess the nearest equivalent today would be an Atom-based system board with ION chipset. The issue with the updates you requires which are predominately

I'm hoping that B&O address all their issues in 7.11. Fixing the fans, yet still having poor picture quality does not justify an external software release. Lock up the software and hardware guys in a room until they properly fix this thing. 2 years and 3 months of bugs, bugs and more bugs is as has been said many times - shocking. The issues

Hopefully this discussion will get pinned. 7.11 is hopefully a significant release. I'm hoping for fixes to the fan issue, resolution of picture quality degradation with 7.05 in both SD and HD versus 6.xx and bug fixes to Blu-Ray drive. I've gone back to 6.11 currently as 7.05 was totally unacceptable and our B&O engineer felt more comfortable

Unfortunately not. The current module was designed for Europe. The UK has decided to adopt its own standard and will require a new module that hopefully B&O will deliver. Being one of their bigger markets, hopefully they will produce an upgrade. I believe the final standard is due in February. Its the same situation with all the TV manufacturers

Is it steely resolve or ignorance? I sincerely do hope that they read these forums - in particular Kalle Hvidt Nielsen. What he'd uncover is that his software development teams need bolstering with both additional headcount and new leadership. In particular, the Software QA team really needs fixing. Whilst I will be very fair and say that B&O

[quote user="moxxey"] I'd like you to ask him why B&O think it's acceptable to sell a £10K TV (BV7-40 MKIV) that could be argued is not 'fit for purpose' under UK law, which crashes watching Sky HD in a multi-room environment. Sky HD is embedded in millions of homes through the UK, so it's hardly uncommon. B&O

Hi there - Can I ask how did you resolve this? When I check mine in the connections menu the DVD line is greyed out. Is there a way of knowing through the menus whether this is done correctly or not? Appreciate your help.

One suggestion if you go for the MkIII. - Get your dealer to flash the Beosystem 3 with the latest 7.05 firmware. It only takes them 40 minutes and only costs them their time. I would also say this TV has been very bug ridden especially in working with SKY HD, so I'd highly recommend ensuring you keep with the latest software. - Depending on how

I hear 7.1.1 is now out. Does anyone have the fix list for this by any chance? My TV is coming back from an upgrade to Blu-Ray today which is all very exciting and will hopefully have been updated to the latest rev. Outstanding service from the guys in Reading as ever - they loaned me a 7-40 replacement whilst mine went away and couldn't have been
