I'm with Peter and Lee here - the 720p BV9 is simply awesome in every respect, and knocks spots off the BV7-40 picture-wise. Also, myself and a 62 year old man moved Lee's BV9, and it wasn't any trouble whatsoever. The set has inbuilt handles at the rear, and the weight spread between two is not a problem in my experience.

Hi Tony, These are worth around £500-650 on the used market - luckily for you values have fallen since used BeoVision/Center 6's have appeared regularly. Watch out for dodgy DVD mechanisms though - they can be as reliable as a chocolate fireguard - and always transport upright - lying them down can cause no end of trouble.

I echo what others have already said - if you're buying ANYTHING (not just B&O), make sure it's in the condition described before handing over your cash! £750 for a pair of nearly new BeoLab 6000 and a brand new Serenata sounds like a fantastic deal to me - so if the speakers have a few small marks I'd just grin and bear it. With £900 you should easily be able to obtain a BeoSound 2300 CD/Tuner (with AUX socket), a nice pair of BeoLab 2500 AND a lead to plug your iPod into.... I probably shouldn't say too much as it could be percieved as selling (!), but I'd definately buy as modern as you can afford as parts for the older systems (however lovely and vintage

I guess that figures!! I suppose most people choose to have them mounted above mantlepieces etc as they look good there - but don't consider their health before drilling!

Someone once told me that the best way to hang a wall-mountable set is to figure out where you'll be watching it from, and then calculate where your eye would hit the wall without moving your neck. The centre of the visible screen should not be more than 6 inches above that point to avoid straining the eyes and neck.

It's all about COD 5 now Flappo - World at War! LOL I voted option 3!

Hi Tim, You'll need to add 'CDV' to the remote's LIST functions - that should fire up the DVD player. Not sure about controlling it though - sorry! M.
