  • Re: The BeoSound 8 - Live Review!!!

Hi Stan, Fair comment! I've also produced a Powerlink to BS8 cable for exactly this arrangement. However, the PC Port gives a fixed line level output, meaning a clearer sound through the full range of the BS8 volume control, plus independent control of BS8 volume with respect to any other Beolab speakers connected to the Beolink Active box. [quote user="9 LEE"] Afterthoughts? Well, apart from B&O missing the boat on the controller, I’d say they may have missed an opportunity to make this a fantastic Link Room Speaker. A small, one line display perhaps, and a MasterLink Socket? It thrashes the ageing BeoLab 3500 as far as sound quality, it beats it on price, and can

  • Re: Connect Beolab 6000 to non B&O receiver?

[quote user="rweber"] Dear Steve, Hope you can help me on this one. At this moment I have connected 4 Beolabs 6000's to a Teufel Decoderstation 5 (5.1 pre out Dolby and DTS decoder). I don't use the RCA connectors on the Beolab's but the powerlink connectors. On the serial output of a Lintronic (TT455-RT-238) I use the two TTL

  • Re: Help needed

Hi eric43, Welcome to the forum! The Master Control Panel 5500 only works with either Beomaster 5500, 6500 or 7000, hence if you have a different system installed, then it will just say "no contact" whenever you try to do anything. If you can let us know what other equipment you have installed in the house, I'm sure we can help you solve

  • Re: The 'Dark Side'.....

Interesting question Lee! I'm also a life-long Beoaddict, but there are some areas where I'm so in love with other products that I haven't even tried the B&O equivalent.... 1) The ubiquitous iPod (3rd gen. Nano for me) - although this is docked to my Beosystem 3500 and controlled from my Beo4 using a little gadget I've soldered in

  • Re: Ipod/Iphone dock

To quote the advert of a certain UK high street bank: "There is another way".... You can add an extra circuit board into the base of your Beo4 remote to allow it to control in iPod or iPhone (when used with the standard Apple Universal Dock). The dock costs £40 in Argos (for UK buyers) and when used with the Beo4 upgrade, this gives

  • Re: DAC with Mac?

Wow, I think we've got almost every possible solution suggested here following Lee's question - I love BeoWorld! Here's my £0.02 worth:- Basically, in my view, adding an external DAC to a computer is only half of the solution, as you then need a pre-amp/volume control between the DAC and the Beolab speakers to prevent the risk of accidentally

  • Re: Beolab 3 vs Anthony Gallo's Strada speakers

Sorry, I forgot to say:- 1) Welcome to the forum afcintra! 2) Yes, you CAN use Beolab 2 and 7.2 with a generic A/V processor, in case anyone was wondering, you just have to send the correct trigger signals to switch on the speakers when no B&O source is present. Kind regards, Steve.

  • Re: Beolab 3 vs Anthony Gallo's Strada speakers

Hi afcintra, I recently set up a surround sound system for a customer using Anthony Gallos, the details may interest you:- Old system: Beolab 1's (front), Beolab 2, Beolab 7.2 (centre), Beolab 3's (rear) New system: Anthony Gallo Reference 3's (front), Pioneer sub (can't recall the model), plus Anthony Gallo Strada 3's (centre and
