Hi David, Not sure I can offer any wisdom on why you cannot take iTunes volume above 2/3 when feeding the DACmagic without getting crackling. I read in a number of places that early versions of iTunes didn't control the volume at low settings particularly well from a quality perspective so you should always run it at full volume. I understand this

Hi Wowmix, I've recently bought a DACmagic and found the use of fibre optic TOSlink cable to be superior to the USB. USB definitely lost some of the clarity particularly the bass. You can get a TOSlink to mini-TOSlink on the web fairly easily but on the high street it proves a bit tougher. Thanks Apple for putting the optical output on as well as

Hi, The Bosscomm boxes are good and I've used a few on my network, but you can just as easily buy a terminal block/strip from Radio Spares or Maplin and splice MasterLink very successfully. I've done this to great success and actually think it gives a better long term connection than the push-fit wire sockets on some connectors. Just make sure

Hi David, Last night I connected my new Cambridge Audio DACmagic between the Mac-Mini and BeoPort. WOW what a revelation and it's only just started "burning-in" The whole sound has improved considerably. Bass is tighter, mid-range clearer and the highs are really crisp. One thing though, I did find the USB connection an improvement but

Hi David, Thanks for the quick response. I'm very encouraged to hear the fix is simply to lower the output volume, this does make some sense in that if everything in the chain was amplifying the signal it would/might overload the BeoPort input. I'm very interested in improving the quality of the sound as I love using my Mac to serve music and

Hi David, I'm thinking of getting a DAC and wondered if you managed to resolve your crackling problem the the Cambridge Audio DAC? My setup is very similar with a Mac-Mini feeding Beoport into a B&O masterlink Avant TV with B8000's at the front and B4000's at the back and a 3200 linked to B6000's. I'm sure a DAC could improve

Hi Ouverture, Glad to have save you some money I have to admit I found the "spoof" on the net from a very good site called appletvhacks. Well worth a visit http://www.appletvhacks.net/ Best Rob

Dear All, My dear wife bought me an AppleTV for my birthday However, on checking its compatibility with my Avant RF32 DVD (late model) I was saddened to find the AppleTV only outputs were component video (RGB) and HDMI and the Avant only has inputs for Co-ax 75ohm, SCART & S-VHS (the latter two being composite video) However I have got it working

Hi - does anyone know if the latest version of the STB Controller can work with a Humax 9200T? Many thanks, Rob

Hi Shane, I bought my first MX4002 over 10 years ago and it's still working well. The picture is excellent still and competes with many modern flat screens in my view. Since then I have bought a second MX and an Avant RF all great pictures. The 4002 should network as well so if you have a B&O sound system you can connect it via the Masterlink
