  • BV7-40 MkIII Channel Display

I recently had the SW in my US market BV7-40 upgraded to version 4.12. One peculiarity after the upgrade is that the right side channel display for the ATSC tuner appears only when the DTV function is first activated. After ~10 seconds, the channel display disappears and does not return when the channel is changed. The volume level indication functions

Alex: Most people aren't too bothered about HDMI 1.3 compatibility. In fact I would be very surprised if anybody had ever walked into a B&O store and asked about HDMI 1.3 compatibility on the BeoSystem 3. Well, I did and got a blank stare. The salesman had no idea what I was talking about. I subsequently wrote Struer and asked if there were

cowtwn: I am interested to know whether there are any issues with connecting a commerical panasonic to the beosystem 3. Specifically, i have a beosystem 1 connected to a panasonic plasma and there are two annoying consequences 1. the panasonic lists the input which intereferes with the curtain and 2. there are black bars on the left and right side of

  • Re: Where to find the firmware on a Beosystem 3?

The major improvement is that 4.x enables true 1080p output and throughput from HD-DVD/Blu-Ray players to the screen. The 3.x versions output only 1080i from the electronics and the screen has to deinterlace the signal to 1080p. AOTBE, 4.x should provide a smoother and cleaner picture quality. That having been said, there have been reports that, at

I guess even Country & Western music sounds better through a B&O system. ;-) Mind you, my system has never been subjected to such fare. De gustibus and all that sort of thing.

  • Re: Got my Beovision 8 an hour ago

Oops, sorry, I really didn't mean to rain on JK's parade. I did know but had forgotten, due to CRS syndrome, that BV8 has a 720p display. Anything more would be a waste in a 32" display. My misplaced enthusiasm was simply a reflection of my recent experience: the video output quality of my two Apple TVs, fed into a BS3 and a BV7, took a giant leap forward

  • Re: Beolab 3

That's right, and the rather substantial price increase on the BL3s was apparently "justified" because they were selling a lot of them at the previous price. What is really interesting is that, at the same time, the price of the BL7-2 was dropped from $4200 to $3900, putting it on a par with a pair of BL3s. Somewhat the new pricing seems a more accurate

  • Re: Beovision 7 DVD Player Problem

I guess the reason I find the noise objectionable or at least unusual is that I own a number of other pieces of B&O equipment with motorized doors and they all operate very smoothly and wholly silently. If the noise of the DVD player in the BV7 is indeed normal, it is an unfortunate departure from Bang & Olufsen's usual high standards of mechanical
