Well in the end I decided to get the set repaired at B&O Derby. They came to pick it up 16 days ago, having arrived an hour later than they said they would even though it was supposed to be 1st call of the day! They promised to get back to me in a couple of days to advise of what's wrong and cost of repair. I heard nothing, so I called them

I sort of assume that the new glossy franchise dealers simply subcontract repairs out. I thought i might be able to avoid their mark up by going to a reputable repairer directly.

Any recommendations for a good (B&O) TV repairer in the Derby area? I suspect I've got a power board failure on my MX7000 and have decided it's probably worth getting it fixed while waiting to see what the BV10 looks like....... see previous thread on TV choices! Thanks in advance. AP

Must have missed something - I don't know anything about the BV 10-40. Can you point in the direction of some more information please. Thanks. AP

True. I suppose I'm trying to decide between getting the modern equivalent of what I've alreay got - Beovision 6/8-32 against an upgrade that's within budget (BV5/BV8-40). The problem is slightly complicated by the fact that I'm not living in my normal place for the next year or so, due to work, and therefore a smaller set is more practical

Hi I would value your opinions on the best way to go on a replacement for my trusty old MX7000 which has gone on the blink after 17(?) years of unblemished service. I would like to connect some passive speakers to my computer via the audio (earphone) output socket. Rather than buy a new amp or another pair of active speakers, I wondered whether it would be possible to use a Beolink Passive as a power (is this the right term?) amplifier. Ideally, I would like to control the volume using the computer and not bother

I've experienced precisely the same problem. I did all the things suggested by the other respondants, i.e. clean the discs, clean the sensors, power off/on and it did the trick.
