  • Beovision Avant/Beolab 8000 bass issue

Here’s a bit of an odd one. I have a Beovision Avant 32 DVD connected to Beolab 8000s. Ever since installation I have run it with both the Avant’s internal loudspeakers AND the 8000s operational for television use, until last night when I was fiddling with the settings (well, you’ve got to once in a while, haven’t you?!) Now

  • Re: Every Day Design Classics.

The Land Rover - designed for a purpose but with a functional handsomness all of its own. Even the modern day Land Rover Ninety is instantly recognisable as a descendant of the original Series One. I also think that, like the Mini, it is one of the few truly classless cars - you can fill one with hay and take it off across a farmers field, or drop an

  • Re: Best ever designed BeoLab fom Bang&Olufsen

I'd also go for the Beolab 8000s from a design point of view, the Beolab 5s from a sonic one and the Pentas from a purely emotional one!

  • Re: non-B&O with BeoLabs

You can buy suitable powerlink to phono leads from B&O that allow non-B&O equipment to work with B&O loudspeakers. You can actually use the phono input sockets on Beolab 8000 directly from a preamp, but I'm not quite sure how you'd fit Beolab 2 into this.

  • Re: What will happen to BeoLab 2 in the future?

I still think a subwoofer based on the bass end of Beolab 5 and with its room equalisation function would be a superb idea....

  • Beogram 5000 has a mind of its own!

My (80's type) Beogram 5000 has developed an interesting character trait, namely that it starts and lowers onto the record and then immediately switches off again. And then sits for a bit and starts itself again, before stopping once more. This it does a few times before stopping and staying stopped! Well, that is until I go to take the record off

I have a feeling the little post fella actually operates the light in the turntable lid when it opens.

  • Re: how to get inside the front panel of beomaster 5000 (paging martin)

As a little tip, I found standard multi-way computer ribbon cable ideal for replacing the worn-out cable on my own Beomaster 5000. I actually did the job for the previous owners around 12 years ago and, when they gave me the system last year, I was please to find them all still working!

darioazul: Dear All: Would someone kindly post pdfs of the article? I am not sure if I can get that mag. here in the US. Dario I'm afraid posting PDFs would be a breach of copyright, but you can buy an electronic copy of the magazine here - www.hi-fiworld.co.uk Glad you enjoyed the article, Peter - it started out about 5 pages long!

I bought a Beomaster 2400 and Beocord 1500 yesterday at my local car boot sale - £3 for both!
