Thanks to you all. I know way back, I told you I wasn't interested in gadgets, but I've changed my mind since then. I may be getting a working bm 8000 pretty soon, but no beolab terminal, but I may have an opportunity to get a working beomaster terminal for reasonable price.

I know it doesn't have all the features of BeoLab Terminal, but still would it work partially?

Has anyone compared bm8000 and vacuum tube amp? As I delve into both B&O and other analog audio, I found out I started liking the sound of tube amp. Well, looking at the prices of beograms available from ebay, refurbished ones, the price is still attractive compared to pro-ject table.

If you are just using to transcribe, you want something cheap but good sounding. This one can also come fitted with a built in phono amplifier. [/quote] How would you compare it to B&O turntables
-
I'll keep that in mind, I've been listening to and comparing various B&O turntables and pleasantly surprised by their sonics. I couldn't detect "pop and crackle" at all, even though I could from other brands. So far, I'm not very impressed with technics and yamaha turntables.
