Hi everyone The dust cover on my recently acquired Beocenter 5000 is in pretty bad shape, badly scratched, left-hand hinge is broken (and broke again even when glued with proper aryldite) and the leaf spring has had the ghost and wont keep the lid up... I tried to bend the spring under heat but once bent it quickly looses its spring and the lid wont

  • Beocenter 5000 cassette deck

Hi everyone Posting this in the hope that it helps other people out. I picked up a Beocenter 5000 a few weeks ago, the cassette deck would play and rewind okay but not fast forward. After digging around various threads I finally plucked up the courage to remove the deck from the unit and pull it down to determine the problem (I am not an electronics

I am quite interested in newer home theatre products but have always tinkered around with vintage products. A few days ago I got my first 2 B&O products, a Beocenter 5000 and matching Beovox S55 speakers and a Beomaster

  • Re: Beocenter 5000 help

Hey Peter, thanks for your reply. At this stage the actual components of the Beocenter work quite well. I had a poke around inside last night and everything appears in good order and nice and clean. The turntable lid has 1 of the 3 hinges cracked, I have repaired with aryldite glue and will add an extra brace to the bracket with some glue tonight and
