I am afraid parts are not obtainable unless you find a donor - and needless to say they tend all to have similar faults! This is a superb music center - a basic version of the 7000 but the sound quality was just as good. The black finish is anodising - very tough! You may need a new cartridge as the record section is normally excellent.

Sounds like the muting circuit is not switching out. It sounds like you are capable electronically so I would trace the signal through there. The manual is on site for the circuit diagram.

Not much in these speakers! The pin is + and the blade -. The 'cross over' is also very basic - I attach the diagram which should help you!

I think the best way is to use a Powerlink socket. You will need a bespoke cable and if you are using both Powerlink sockets, a Y splitter but a good dealer should be able to sort this for you. I think the remote is an extra - £9.99 so not exactly a deal breaker! I will wait till the flash memory increases a bit - about 100GB seems better and I have no problems about having an external disc drive. However will need to see one in the flesh to see if it really is worth twice a MacBook.

Of course there is a chance that the Beo4 just doesn't operate that button! If all the other buttons work, I am not that hopeful.

The problem as usual is the moving release date. Technology is moving at a fantastic speed and what may well be astounding now is old hat a year later. On reflection, you are right! But it is this effect that B&O need for their products - Wow! I agree about the Time Capsule - effectively £80 for 500Gb is not bad. If I had not just bought a 1TB drive, I would consider it! I may still!
