That sounds appalling! Try plugging it in the Aux socket and see what it sounds like! I just wonder if it has been fitted with the optional RIAA so you are equalising it twice. If not, there is something seriously wrong with the cartridge!

Actually I think I have the service manual! Not sure how useful it is but it does have the circuit diagram and pictures of the PCB. I'll see what I can do.

Just pulled my 5500 apart - the relay seems to be a 6V one and is on PCB2 just in front of the speaker 1 outputs. No make on mine but Martin will know!

Don't upgrade for the 5500 manual - the one we have is very poor! We do have the 6500 which is similar, but not the same!

Knowing your luck, it would soften the glue and the glass would fall out! I wouldn't risk it!

You have checked that it is not set to Option 0? Try L.Opt Number on a beo4 or Link, Number Store on the Beolink 1000. I may be able to get hold of the manual, though I am not sure how useful it will be. What device are you using it with? Beolink Active etc?

1. Probably yes! The part is apparently fairly standard though you can order it from B&O at a premium. If you take the original out, it will have a model number on it which should help. 2. Not easily! It could be possible but I would suggest getting a MCL2A also known as an X-tra Speaker kit which will allow control of the 9500 in the other room

Very nice set ! However this is not a very valuable group. The pick would be the Beomaster 1001 - though I notice one being unsold on eBay for £12! The fact yours are boxed makes them more saleable but I wouldn't order the Porsche just yet! Put them individually on eBay with a good photo and description. Best of luck!

The tape problem will be the belts and these can be obtained. The Aux socket is worked by attaching a DIN plug into the front socket and pressing P1. I didn't know there were RCA plugs on a BC7000. They were fitted to the 7007 instead of the DIN sockets but a TP2 button was provided then. The lids are always a problem! I am afraid I don't have
