If money is no issue, the BV9 has the better picture. The BV7 does have the DVD player though. The BV9 is also a lot bigger!

I do have one but it is not quite what I want. The lack of two way with N.Music is very limiting and a Beo4 /Beolink 1000 is so intuitive. Maybe I am getting set in my ways! My iPod Touch is more useful for N.Music.

You can certainly connect an external DVD-R to the HDR2 - the user manual suggests such an arrangement. This connects via the Aux SCART so I dare say you can connect to your computer as long as it can accept the input from a SCART. That should be possible.

Have you the manual? You need to do just what you are doing right up to the bit when you select the box! Press Go to select it, but instead of pressing Go again, press Exit and that stores it.
