  • Re: Beosystem 5000 /5500

I would ask Tim Jarman for an estimate on fixing the 5000 first. It is a better amplifier than the 5500 if truth be known - especially the pre-amplifier. The CD50 will work with the 5500 and ideed John is quite correct about it being supplied with the 5500 system. B&O late with a product release - who would believe it!

  • Re: MX4000 questions

    1. Yes! The part number is 3451564. 2. I would be very careful! Nothing abrasive. 3. You have lost me slightly here! I thought the two stands were completely different! 4. They are small bolts. I had a similar problem with a TV and just bought some new ones at a hardware store.

  • Re: Having problems with my Beogram 1000 regarding cables

Welcome to Beoworld. That is a 5 pin DIN plug. You need a modified one of these ! The one shown is not quite what you need as it requires an extra wire running from the casing of the DIN plug to the earth on your amplifier or it will hum! Worth asking the seller if he does such a cable - I would be surprised if he didn't.

  • Re: Beocom 6000 Memory

You can reset the hand set. Press DOT 70009 OK and it will reset the handset. It will of course wipe all the phone memory. Welcome to Beoworld.

  • Re: minor scuff marks

Really, don't do it! Using metal polish on anodised aluminium is a recipe for disaster! Either replace the part (possible but not cheap), re-anodise it (ditto!) or live with it! I would suggest the latter!

Mildly ironic that the title of the thread is "Now, when the war is over..."

Goodness! Can we stop this silly argument now! I don't think either of you are ignorant at all! However not listening to each other could be a failing! I think we are comparing sheep and goats here. Obviously some Blu-ray discs are quite frankly poor - 300 seems to be a culprit. And some BBC HD broadcasts are very good - and they are. However to

The end of the IR blaster will light up - should be a pinky colour!

I really meant waiting to buy another make! I wouldn't hold my breath for B&O!

  • Re: BEO4 & Sky + STB (Thompson)

The Pace Sky+ codes should work. It certainly worked with my Amstrad (till it blew up!) Does the remote light flash on the Sky box when you use the Beo4? I take it that the Sky+ remote works fine? Try altering the position of the IR blaster. You can see if it is working by taking a picture with a digital camera.
