Got the pics! When I'm in Tel Aviv the next time (we live in a village about 3 hours away), I'll go in and see if he has one in stock. Menahem

Hi Loris, In the below post, and the linked posts, you will find just about all you need to know about repairing your BeoGram 6000. http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/thread/94148.aspx BTW, DO NOT remove your CD-4 Demodulator board - it also functions as an extremely high-quality RIAA amplifier, and you'd have to spend a small fortune on an aftermaket

Hi Martin, You're right on that the trimmers are about 250ohms, but today, I cannot find those intermediate value trimmers anywhere. The 2 most widely available manufacturers of trimmers - Bourns and Piher, make available at the big distributors only 100ohm, 500ohm, 1K, 5K, 10K, 50K, etc. I would have used a 500ohm trimmer in this case. Do you have

Yup, those are definitely all output-stage components. He's right on the money! What about all the electrolytics, or have those already been replaced recently?

Glad it worked out for you! Would you like to let us in on the secret of what exactly was done technically? Menahem

PG, You don't have to spend anywhere near UKP90 on an ESR meter. I have the EVB ESR meter - a made-in-Portugal licensed production of the famous Smith meter. http://clientes.netvisao.pt/greenpal/evb1.htm It is an excellent unit, very accurate and highly reliable - mine's going on for about 7 years now. It's much easier to use than the Peak

Hi Derek, I never had a problem with the film caps. But, ALL tantalums and electrolytics on mine were replaced as a matter of first-course. Because most of them were 4.7uF and lower, I used Wima MKS2 film caps, instead of electrolytics. Also, check the 1N400x on the underside of the board next to the solenoid - it may be failing at full current. I replaced

Can someone post a photo of the correct stereo decoder, with model number if any? There is an old radio shop here which has stock of old B&O parts. I got a Decoder for the BM1400 from him once. I'll be happy to check for you if he has this part. Menahem

The caps were about $18 each, IIRC, but I can't guarantee that. The boards were AOK, and I did not have to repair them - stands to reason - the S45's have been in my (careful) possession since new!!

Matt, I see that the unit has the CDM2/10 laser-transport. I've recently been down the same road with mine! You're going to have to disassemble the laser from the circuit board and replace the laser. The CDM2 has the best motor ever produced in CD units (a magnetic Hall unit), but one of the least reliable laser units (according to Philips "experts"
