who cares aboot blu ray and hd dvd ? downloads are the future and apple are there already the apple tv mk 2 has 720p hd available for a fraction of the cost of a blu ray and you don't clutter up the room with boxes either what would you rather have ? hundreds of discs filling up the shelves and a nightmare in cataloguing / finding the right film

the mac mini has the advantage of being much more expandable and versatile , plus it has a built in dvd player / writer add an eye tv usb dongle and you've got a superb pvr too

when can we expect a range of blu ray equipped bno tv's ? maybe they'll even make a bno ps3 ??
-
couldn't agree more i think it just makes more profit - which is very short sighted i've got an lcd , but the best pic i ever saw was a plasma at john lewis , it wasn't even hi def ! it was a 4 x 3 40" pioneer 1024 x 768 showing a dvd and the picture was STAGGERINGLY GOOD left an indelible image in my brain !!!
-
the only problem i have is the avant in the front room won't connect easily without a converter box i wonder how much i'd get for a trade in for a 7/40 ?

10.5.2 has really messed up airport - beware ! loads of threads at apple discussions aboot it

very interesting article on the quality of atv downlaods - hd in partic. http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/apple-tv-20-vs-blu-ray-dvd-hd-cable-the-comparison/ seems they're not as good as blu ray but better than dvd and hd cable ! 720p isn't that bad , after all , most ps3 and 360 games are 720p and the machine just scales them

the problem seems to me that bno are pushing products that simply aren't competitive in any way at all not only ridiculously over priced ( flat panels are very cheap these days you know ) but technically far behind the times ( dvb-t n/a on the bv8 for example ) at least we have the speakers - the 5 & 9 are pretty impressive bits of kit now make
-
one thing that does bug me aboot bno is the fact that they are sold on their ease of use , but in actual fact , they're not very easy to use at all try plugging in a new item into a bno tv and you have to go through all this ridiculous palaver that i'm sure the average bno buyer just wouldn't have the patience , savvy or interest to do all
