Another thought about AirPlay. Why would we even need the Encore for this? AirPlay simply streams your audio through the device to the speakers. However, buying an Encore for this is financial overkill and, frankly, embarassing. Why embarassing? Well, we'd be able to pick up an iPad and show friends the ability for us to "control" our
The only issue is the Apple license.
I don't think you would need to pay a license if AirPlay addition was software-only. If a license does need to be paid, I'm sure it would be a tiny fraction of the Encore RRP :)

Couldn't they have built AirPlay support in to the Encore? If B&W can do it for the far cheaper Zeppelin, surely B&O can include this in the Encore?

I've had an iPad 2 for a couple of months now and have mixed feelings about it. It's great for leisure - the odd game, watching a TV programme on the go (train, airline etc), checking the odd email etc. One of the best things about the iPad is its facility to control your B&O audio equipment. I have all my music stored on an external Time
I think you'd be happy with either one. The BeoLab 4000 is smooth and powerful and, I believe, a very underrated speaker in the current lineup. I personally prefer the BeoLab 3, but they're not as well suited to an actual bookshelf application as the more traditional design of the 4000s. If you can give them
The BeoLab 4000s have always struck me as truly beautiful speakers...
Trip, just out of interest, how do the 4000s perform in your opinion? Compared to the BL3s? I'm in the market for some new speakers and would like some compact bookshelf speakers.
Is there an easy way to establish what SW version the Beocom 5 is running?
The dealer typed in a special code on the keypad. I'm sure Keith or someone else will know?
-
Just a quick follow up on this. Since the SW 2.3 update, the problem where the call would end when a live caller was put on speaker, has been fixed (as Keith said it was in 2.2). Also the sound quality appears to have stablised slightly. Good news all round. Happy.
but for a Loewe Individual incl. sound projector you are roughly in same price area as B&O.
Are you sure? The 46" I was looking at, with the stand and centre speaker was about £6K. I'll check again, but I'm sure it was far less than the BV10-46 (which is about £8900). Good news
As I haven´t found anything about B&O planning a Beovision 7-46 I would like to get your opinions. Perhaps we can create some market power to convince B&O to offer one in near future?
I'd love a BV7-46. Perfect size, superb audio. Only snag is, how expensive is this likely to be? You know B&O
