Agree - MCL2A and set it to Option 4 so you press LINK before it will accept a command. How many systems do you have working now!?

Been playing recently, and have come to the conclusion that most audiophile speak is rubbish. I can tell speakers apart. Beyond that, assuming that the product is being used as intended at a suitable volume, there is really not much in it. CD players all sound the same - any difference is distortion or possibly matching issues. Record players do differ

Certainly S45.2s will be fine. I have lent out my 9500 on long term loan and I gave a pair of S120s to match the system. A bit more bass but equally well balanced.

Well I think wireless is rubbish! I have several wireless devices - my BT homehub and my Epson PX720D printer - both play up regularly to such an extent that they are now wired!!
-
Nothing wrong with the RX2 though I would maybe go for a 1700 instead - I just like the 4000 series and they have more of a wow factor in the styling department. My first system was a BM2400, BG1902 and P30s, rapidly changed to S75s. That did me for quite some time till I got a BG4004. My more recent systems are sometimes more convenient but not better

You can get active speakers - the Beolab 2500 are a little specialised as, in my view anyway, they look a bit odd separated from the music system. If you want actives, Beolab 4000s are the best value by far. A Beomaster 4400 and S45s will sound better though! (I have both). The 2500 is probably the weakest of the Beolab speakers - only the Beolab 4

I have a feeling that it is not that simple! There is if I remember a height difference betwee the earlier and later decks.
-
I would look for a Beosystem 5500 with possibly some S45.2 speakers - excellent sound, easy to wipe clean (you are a student!) but good performance and will work with the modern equipment. If remote is not your thing, then the world is your oyster - a Beomaster 4400 , Beogram 4002 and some S75 speakers will blow away almost anything on the market today

1. The default setting for the AV9000 is that V.Tape will work the VCR. I use V.Aux for the Sky+ - I have a Set Top Box controller fitted so that it all works together with the Beo4. 2. You need to reset the options on the TV and audio systems. Both need to be option 1 - your TV will at present be option 2 and the audio option 0 so it will not respond

I am looking for an LX6000 - I would really like a rosewood one , given the choice.
