Received the second BG3404 at work today. While walking the package out to my car I could here the deck bouncing around in there without the transport screws engaged. No original box, either. What condition was this one going to be in. Got the deck home and opened the box. The box wasn't even full with packing material! Not a good sign!
Dunno if this is the most appropriate thread for this, but it gave me a chuckle: http://steve-yegge.blogspot.com/2011/07/ebay-patents-10-click-checkout.html
Yes, very appropriate.
Hi Rich, congrats to your BM4000 being back. Looks like it has a dial up to 108MHz (counting the numbers on the printing). Is this true? I've newer seen a BM4000 up to 108 while some of the BM3000 do. Surely a US-model then? What kind of FM antenna connector is it; the round 75Ohm or the 2-spade 240Ohm? My BM3000
My God ! I think the last time I saw that was in Bletchley Park :-)
"Steampunk" was the vibe I was going for, for better for worse. Need a different knob I think, but the lettering is perfect.

I am very happy to report the "Tape 1 Switch" I built based on the old parallel printer switch works like a charm! No background noise, no crosstalk, and the ability to record to both tape decks. Just waiting on receipt of an outboard preamp to add the RX 2 into the mix as a second turntable (you know, for the crappy records that you don't

I haven't done any serious listening to the BM4000 yet, just the typical "make sure stuff works" listening everyone does on setup. So far everything seems great! This weekend I plan to work a bit on the BG3404, and try out my new SMMC20EN. That will be the time for some serious listening.

The BM4000 was received back from the shop on Tuesday, and I have now integrated her back into the system. Also integrated into the system are the BM4000 Tape 1 switch and a new (to me) BG3404.

The Police's "Synchronicity" on new BG3404 -> just back from the shop BM4000 -> Beovox M70. Life is good again.

Alas the MMC20EN is likely shot. Didn't take a whole lot of listening to figure that out. Swapped in the MMC3000 and there was a world of difference. Perhaps the MMC20EN will be my first experience with an Axel retip. Got the BM4000 back into its rightful place in the system tonight, along with the BM4000 switch and an additional shelf in the tower

With an RX 2 top plate/platter in place, I put a record on. I connected the the BG3404 to my newly refurbished BM4000 and plugged in my newish Form 1's from LifeStyle AV. The angels burst forth from heaven, and yes, ladies and gentlemen, there was music!!!
