  • Re: Invisible sound

They are a little unclear about the technology involved but if it is like other products of this type, it is a loudspeaker coil and magnet attached to one corner of a board. Quite effective, but not Hi-Fi. The picture speakers you see use a similar principle.

  • Re: beolab 3: base stand or table stand?

Mine are wall mounted! There was a thread saying lifting them off the table did improve the sound. I have mine at ear level and they are excellent!

  • Gold Membership

No doubt some of us are receiving notification that our Gold and Silver memberships are up for renewal. There are obviously a number of reasons for joining - access to manuals, the prize draw etc. However the real reason we have this membership fee is to assist with the running costs of the site and to avoid having a lot of advertising in site. • Re: do contrast screens deteriorate?

The screen on my LX6000 works as well as it ever has. I dare say cleaning incorrectly is not going to help things!

There will be two holes that you can screw a pin into! You actually only need 6 pins in each component so if you have a beogram , unscrew one and put it in the Beocord! The Becord and the Beogram CD use the same pin and a non RIAA Beogram uses the opposite one. I can never remember which one so experiment! If you don't have a pin, I think Martin

  • Re: Beo 4 Questions...

The manual for the MX6000 with Beo4 is on site. Is yours a Beo4 model though? Selecting AV2 depends on what you have attached and is usually done through the Set up menu. V.Aux is used for non standard equipment. Storing is usually by pressing GO then Exit. V.Tape 2 can be added, as can V.Aux, in the LIST system of the Beo4.

  • Re: Opening up a Beomaster 8000 (with pictures too!) (now Beogram 8000)

The 8000 series has always been a bit of an enigma to me. On one hand, the electronics and ergonomics do seem to have been well thought out and when new, these were stunning systems. However the manufacture seems to have been, as stated above, less than perfect with a number of cost cutting measures which are now causing problems. This is one of the

  • Re: DVD controller

It is a glorified SCART lead but with a power supply and an IR blaster. I can't remember how much it costs but in the 2006 price list on site, it is listed as being £105. Impossible to tell you which models it works as this changes and the list is always out of date! It works quite well with my AV9000 and a Panasonic DVDR EH60D although this
