I do have some older [products manuals which are not scanned yet. If there are ones that anyone is desperate for, always ask. I can sometimes help!

The design of the Beolab 4 is interesting and is clearly used partly for cost and partly for space reasons. The nature of ICE amplifiers mean that there is a high switching frequency used which is well outside the hearing levels. This is not a problem. Most of the ICE amplifiers use a coil to remove this switching frequency and this works well. The Beolab

I think it likely that any update will involve simply swapping the amplifiers. I doubt any structural changes will be made - tthis will be for production reasons - they have not announced the 4000 'upgrade' at all!

By the way, when you download the software, you need to have the anti-virus switched off or it won't download.

The suggestion would probably be replace rather than add or you will lose the stereo sound stage. You can daisy chain speakers as you describe though. I actually rather like 2500s. If you can send me a scan, I would be grateful! One does have to take some ofr these technical documents with a small pinch of salt though. I have one on the Beocord 9000 extolling the virtues of it being a single capstan drive, yet the manual for the old 5000 champions dual capstan drive.

I have downloaded a fascinating document sent to me by Frede about the Beomaster 4400. Taken me a while to get it down to a size that I could download but it makes fascinating reading. You will want one once you have read this! Downloadable for silver and gold members here .

You connect the Scart to the BC2 and the Avant and the speakers to the Avant. The Avant surround sound module sorts out the sound. You don't need any other leads. I use this system - BC2 and Avant DVD. The BC2 is configured in this case as V.tape 2. Option 0.

Shame you are not in this country - I am considering selling my 8000 system - at the pre-contemplation stage before anyone gets excited! Just for you, I'll scan the 4400 documentation tonight and put it on site. Now that is something I will not ever sell!
