DVD-A offered multi-channel audio. Not very popular! The problem with CD4 is that it doesn't sound that great! When you listen to music, it normally comes from in front of you rather than dotting all around the room. Great for special effects, not so great for music.

At this level, very much a matter of personal taste. I don't think any of those you mention will disappoint. Let us know what you think.

It all depends how you are using them. If they are connected, then they need to be set to the correct option. It would be normal to connect the speakers to the Avant and set it to option 2 and the 6500 to option 0. If unconnected, they need both setting to option 1. It tells you in the manual how to set the options.

And these ones are not! They use cheap ones because they can! One can 'tune' the amplifier to suit the driver so you can get away with cheap ones. I agree that better drivers would be preferable.

How many times did they do this? Took me three goes with mine! I guess you have a software conflict somewhere. I suppose I would remove all the B&O software, use some software to clean up the system and try again. Have you tried using Windows Media?
